Rob Stalker

Now when Rob came to the band, he came with a big reputation - he had worked with a number of top bands, even ones you've actually heard of, and the biggest of those names was Coventry's finest, the Specials (and below is the photo I've got of him with the Specials which was in that world famous pop magazine of the early '80s, Flexipop, remember that one!), so when Necko left Rob seemed to present the perfect replacement.  Rob was a good bloke and a very knowledgeable one on all matters sound, in fact I remember him doing the sound for Dr Feelgood at the Rotter's gig in 1986, but probably his biggest problem was that he indulged in some of the more indulgent er...indulgences of the rock 'n' roll lifestyle.  In other words he drank a lot and took a fair amount of dodgy substances (I think, that is to say, well sort of, y'know...allegedly or whatever).

Apart from that, Rob was a great bloke and I well remember the late nights at his flat on Bennetthorpe when him, me and Kendell would play Poker or Brag until 5 or 6am and then I would have to drive home, have an hour in bed and then get up for work!  I also will never forget sitting in same said flat on Saturday 13 April 1985, watching Live Aid for most of the day.

But like I said, Rob imbibed a bit too much and he was sacked by Paul eventually for not turning up for a gig I think.  Somebody correct me if I'm wrong...
